Some of you remember when Micah was a year old, how he pulled a little side table in our bedroom over on top of himself and knocked one of his little bottom teeth out. What an ordeal that was - a bloody mess, hours in the emergency room at Children's Hospital, and then being told they could do nothing for him; he would have to see a dentist in the morning. The next day I was the lucky one to bring him to the dentist and hold him down as she shot his gum full of novacaine and extracted his tiny little baby tooth because it could not be saved. I couldn't even watch - it was a horrible experience; one I am thankful Micah does not remember.
Well, yesterday Lily and I were in her bedroom. I was sorting clothes and she was crawling around behind me. Suddenly, BANG CRASH BOOM! I turned around and, sure enough, that same little table, which holds a lamp next to her bed, was on top of Lily on the floor. I can hardly remember moving so fast as to pick her up and ch
eck her little mouth for blood and a loose tooth! Thankfully, there was none. Of course, she was screaming, so Steve and I checked her for other injuries, and also found none. After she woke from her nap, though, I noticed a big red bump on her eyebrow, and also on the top of her head. I am SO thankful she was not seriously hurt. And I think it may be time to get rid of that table. It didn't deter her at all - here she is trying to hang on the kitchen table.
