Oh Yeah, I Am Big!

Today started Micah's first day of summer camp. I signed him up for a week (and for some reason a camp week is only 3 days - Tues, Wed, Thurs) of "Under Construction" camp at a place called Creative Hearts in Avon, CT. I didn't tell him about camp until this morning. He had climbed into my bed and I said to him, "we better get up - you have camp this morning". He looked at me, very seriously, with those huge brown eyes and said "Camp? But I'm not big enough for camp!", to which I replied "Yes, you are big enough to go to Construction Camp." Of course then I had to explain what construction meant and tell him about some of the stuff he would be doing. He then stood up on the bed and exclaimed, looking up and down his body, "Oh yeah, I AM big enough for camp!" He felt very important this morning getting ready for camp; eating his breakfast and filling his backpack and picking out a snack to bring, and saying goodbye to everyone. He thought it was especially cool that HE was the one saying goodbye to Emmalee as he left for camp, rather than the other way around, as it was throughout July. When we arrived, he walked right in and sat in the circle of other little boys, gazing in awe at all of the construction-themed stuff in the room. I can't wait to pick him up and hear all about what kind of fun he had.
