Guest Reader

I went to Emmalee's school today to be the Guest Reader during their library time. I didn't realize what a big deal this was! At the beginning of the year, a paper came home asking for parents to sign up to come in and be guest readers during the day. Well, since I have Micah and Lily, I didn't sign up. A paper came home again a few weeks ago and Emmalee asked if I would sign up. I said no because I didn't have anyone to watch the little ones. She begged PLEASE and I figured, okay, I'll just have Steve come home so I can go in.
Turns out - I was the ONLY parent who had not been in yet, and the big deal about it was that the child whose parent is there gets to sit in a special chair next to their parent as they read! Poor Emmalee never got to sit in the special chair!
So in I went this afternoon, hoping my outfit or the way I had done my hair, or the book I had chosen was not going to embarass Emmalee. And the way she beamed when she climbed into that special chair next to me and the way she proudly introduced me - well it made me wish I had signed up for several times! She and I made each other's day today!
