So we're still going to NC in a couple weeks - we'll just be getting there in a little roundabout way! We're leaving on 4/16 after Emmalee gets out of school and driving to Jeff's house. Our flight leaves from Philly at 9:45am on Thursday and we'll be in sunny, warm NC by noon! We're renting a mini van (maybe that will change my mind about never wanting to own one! we'll see...) and driving close to 3 hours to get to Mom's house (there are closer airports but again, we're going for lower cost here). Flying back to Philly on 4/24 and driving home from Jeff's on 4/25. I am SO looking forward to spending some time in the sun and playing at the park in Mom's neighborhood with the kids. Guess what Steve is looking forward to... if you guessed anything other than GOLF you don't know him too well...
Micah and Lily and I went to the grocery store today and Lily sat in the cart like a big girl. I am so thankful to not have to keep her in the infant car seat/carrier for shopping trips anymore! She has her 2 bottom teeth now and her hair is starting to fill in, and she is starting to look different. We still cannot figure out what color her eyes are - they are murky blueish/grayish/greenish.
I am also thankful that Micah is a good listener and stays by me in the store. We looked at the lobsters today and I asked him if he wanted to eat one. He looked at me as if I was completely ridiculous for even suggesting such a thing and says "No way, that's disgusting!" He thinks they just live there. Oh, and he really said "disgusting" - he has quite the vocabulary of big kid words thanks to Emmalee!
Today is a nice quiet sunny Monday. A nice way to come off of what was a busy w
eekend! Friday night I worked and Steve brought the kids to McDonalds. Saturday Micah and Steve went to Micah's friend Gavin's "Big Top Birthday" - a clown was there and did magic tricks and the most amazing face painting I've ever seen - she turned Micah into Spiderman! Emmalee went to her friend Kate's "Diva Birthday", then went to another birthday party for her friend Carly's sister at Jump Zone - an indoor park full of inflatables. I worked Saturday night, too. Sunday we went to church and then to a couple of open houses for some homes nearby that recently went up for sale. Partly because we are nosey and like to look through the nearby houses, and partly because we've come to the realization that we will more than likely have to move into a larger home at some point... I worked again last night - busy weekend= cha-ching!
I ran into Sharon (my aunt) today at the grocery store and she told me that Grandma is coming home from the rehab/nursing home tomorrow. She broke her ankle back on 2/5. She'll have OT, PT and an aide coming to their home. I bet Grandpa is real glad to have her coming home! I hope I haven't bored those of you who aren't family members with my rambling - gotta keep the family updated, even on the little things!
